Background

Does digital publishing have a viable future?
What are the main challenges?
What opportunities are there?

If you're interested in these questions and would like to learn more about publishing for development in Africa, Information for Change hosts annual workshops with slideshows, transcripts, audio files and video all available online.

The Information for Change initiative was launched in 2007 as a series of workshops to bring together individuals and organisations involved in generating, publishing, and using information for development from across Africa.

Information for Change provides a platform for all who create, communicate, disseminate or use information, and are caught up in the changes brought about by the digital revolution. The workshops provide participants with a unique opportunity to come together to share experiences, learn from others, and network. They are intended for a broad spectrum of information professionals, including researchers, authors, print and online publishers, booksellers, librarians and resource centre managers, advocacy organisations, academics, civil servants, policymakers, and those campaigning for social change.
